Microbiologist – Environmental Laboratory

Environmental Science (M) Sdn Bhd is looking for a Microbiologist to join our team at E S Laboratories (M) Sdn Bhd, Kuantan Branch.

This position is suitable for candidates with a background in Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology or related laboratory fields, who are interested in environmental microbiological testing.

The role involves laboratory analysis of environmental samples, particularly water and wastewater, using established microbiological methods and procedures.

Job Scope:

• Conduct microbiological analysis of environmental samples, particularly water and wastewater, in accordance with approved laboratory methods.
• Perform microbiological testing using recognised methods such as APHA, ISO and EPA methods.
• Carry out microbial culture, enumeration, identification and related microbiological testing.
• Prepare culture media, reagents and laboratory materials required for testing.
• Perform sample preparation, testing and result verification accurately.
• Maintain proper laboratory records, worksheets and test documentation.
• Follow ISO/IEC 17025, laboratory quality control and safety requirements.
• Assist in equipment maintenance, calibration and routine laboratory activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results.
• Perform other laboratory duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Laboratory Technology or a related field.
• Candidates with hands-on experience in water, wastewater or environmental microbiological testing are highly preferred.
• Experience in an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with relevant microbiology laboratory experience are encouraged to apply.
• Good understanding of microbial culture, enumeration and identification techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory SOPs, QC procedures and documentation.
• Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to be based in Kuantan, Pahang.

Working Hours:

• Monday – Friday
• 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary:

RM2,000 – RM2,500 per month
