Requirements

 Must-Have Requirements

  •  Diploma or Degree specifically in Accounting; or a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, MICPA or an equivalent qualification, whether completed or actively in progress.
    • At least three years of relevant external statutory-audit experience with a Malaysian audit or public-practice firm.
    • Practical experience managing audit engagements from planning through completion.
    • Good working knowledge of MPERS, financial reporting requirements and Malaysian statutory-audit procedures.
    • Ability to prepare and review audit working papers and financial statements.
    • Ability to independently manage multiple audit assignments and deadlines.
    • Experience communicating directly with clients and resolving outstanding audit matters.
    • Ability to guide and review junior Audit team members.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Responsible, organised and attentive to detail.
    • Ready to take greater ownership and progress into a leadership role.

Applicants whose academic qualifications are in unrelated fields will only be considered if they are actively pursuing or have completed a recognised professional accounting qualification and meet the required external-audit experience.

An experienced Audit Associate or Audit Semi-Senior may be considered only if the candidate has at least three years of external statutory-audit experience and is capable of independently handling substantially complete audit assignments.

Malaysia Work Eligibility

This is a full-time, on-site position based at the office location stated in this advertisement. Attendance at client premises will be required when necessary.

Applicants must already possess the legal right to work in Malaysia without employer sponsorship. KEMM Advisory does not provide employment-pass sponsorship or overseas relocation assistance for this position.

Candidates currently residing outside Malaysia will only be considered if they already possess valid Malaysian work rights and can relocate independently before the agreed commencement date.

Responsibilities

 

KEMM Advisory Sdn Bhd is recruiting an experienced Audit Senior to support external statutory-audit engagements undertaken by TCT & Co, the audit practice operating under the KEMM Advisory umbrella.

The successful candidate will be legally employed by KEMM Advisory Sdn Bhd and assigned to TCT & Co’s Audit team. For all audit engagements, the candidate will work under the functional direction of TCT & Co’s Audit Partner and designated audit reviewer.

This position is suitable for an experienced external auditor who can independently manage audit assignments, communicate confidently with clients, guide junior team members and progress towards an Audit Supervisor or Audit Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Plan, execute and complete external statutory-audit engagements for a portfolio of Malaysian SME clients.
    • Manage assigned audit engagements from initial planning through completion.
    • Prepare and review audit working papers and supporting documentation.
    • Identify key audit risks, accounting issues and areas requiring further investigation.
    • Review financial statements, audit schedules and supporting documents.
    • Communicate directly with clients regarding audit queries, outstanding information and audit findings.
    • Resolve accounting and audit issues arising during engagements.
    • Ensure audit assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
    • Guide, supervise and review the work of Audit Associates and interns.
    • Monitor the progress of assigned engagements and follow up on outstanding matters.
    • Discuss significant audit and accounting matters with the Audit Partner and designated audit reviewer.
    • Assist with the finalisation of audit files and financial statements.
    • Use audit software, digital tools and technology to improve audit quality and efficiency.
