Business Analyst – Insurance Domain

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong Insurance domain knowledge to work closely with business users, product owners, and technical teams. The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, analyzing existing processes, preparing functional documentation, and supporting the implementation and enhancement of insurance applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Conduct requirement workshops and discussions with business users and technical teams.
• Prepare BRD, FRD, User Stories, Use Cases, Process Flows, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for development and testing teams.
• Perform AS-IS and TO-BE process analysis and identify gaps or improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with developers, QA teams, product owners, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Support UAT, including test scenario preparation, defect clarification, and coordination with business users.
• Analyze change requests, production issues, and enhancement requirements.
• Ensure requirements are traceable from initial discussion through implementation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and daily discussions.

Insurance Domain Requirements

• Strong understanding of the Insurance domain and insurance business processes.
• Experience working on General Insurance, Life Insurance, or Health Insurance projects.
• Knowledge of insurance processes such as Policy Administration, New Business, Underwriting, Claims, Renewals, Endorsements, Billing/Premium, and Customer Servicing.
• Ability to understand insurance products, business rules, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience working on an insurance application implementation, enhancement, transformation, or integration project is preferred.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within Insurance.
• Strong requirement gathering and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience preparing BRD/FRD, functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
• Experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Basic understanding of SQL, APIs, and system integrations is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively between business and technical teams.

Preferred

• Experience working directly with insurance business users or insurance
