Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join the Reliability Matters team at Alexandra Hospital. This pivotal role supports and enhances risk management and compliance initiatives. You will support compliance efforts by identifying control gaps, recommending improvements and leveraging data analytics to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities*

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Support the implementation of initiatives to promote a strong internal control culture through control self-assessments, validation checks and process reviews.
• Support health check reviews across departments, document observations and work with stakeholders to follow up on identified compliance gaps.
• Perform assigned risk assessments and internal control testing, identify potential weaknesses and support the development of practical improvements aligned with established practices.
• Collect, organise and analyse data to support the monitoring and enhancement of control effectiveness and efficiency.
• Support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) reviews to identify potential process failures, assess existing controls, recommend improvement opportunities, and monitor the implementation of agreed actions.
• Follow up on observations, maintain implementation trackers and prepare regular progress updates for management reporting.
• Support and participate in special reviews and governance projects, including coordination, documentation, data analysis and follow-up activities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• At least 1 to 3 years of proven experience in internal controls, compliance, or audit, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Degree from an established university in Accountancy, ACCA, or equivalent. Professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines
• Excellent communication, problem solving, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical mind with the ability to work independently.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
