Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented, passionate, and technical Textile Specialist to join our design and production team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabric research, material sourcing, textile testing, and sustainable fabric development for our seasonal and core apparel collections. You will work closely with Fashion Designers, Product Developers, and overseas fabric mills to ensure our textiles meet high standards of quality, hand-feel, durability, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

• Fabric Sourcing & Material Development: Research, identify, and source innovative, sustainable, and high-performance fabrics (e.g., organic cotton, Tencel, recycled fibers, technical blends) aligned with Graye’s design aesthetic and sustainability criteria.

• Textile Testing & Quality Control: Perform and evaluate technical fabric tests (e.g., shrinkage, colorfastness, pilling, tensile strength, GSM) to ensure raw materials meet production, performance, and durability standards.

• Supplier & Mill Management: Build and manage relationships with local and overseas fabric mills, dye houses, and material suppliers; negotiate lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and pricing.

• Sustainability & Compliance Tracking: Verify sustainable textile certifications (e.g., GOTS, OEKO-TEX, GRS) and ensure raw materials conform to international environmental and chemical safety standards.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Designers and Pattern Makers to recommend appropriate fabrics based on garment structure, drape, and functionality; maintain a comprehensive, organized fabric library and swatch database.

• Production Support: Oversee raw material quality assurance during bulk production, troubleshooting fabric defect issues and color lab-dip approvals with suppliers in a timely manner.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology, Textile Design, Fashion Material Science, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in textile sourcing, fabric development, or quality control within the Apparel, Fashion, or Textile industry.

• Strong technical knowledge of fabric constructions (wovens, knits), yarn properties, dyeing/printing methods, and garment finishing processes.

• Familiarity with eco-conscious textiles, sustainable raw materials, and international textile certifications (OEKO-TEX, GOTS, etc.).

• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail in material documentation and quality assurance.

• Proactive communication and negotiation skills with fabric suppliers and cross-functional teams.
