We are looking for a hands-on, energetic, and customer-focused Duty Manager to join our team and act as the primary operational leader during their shift.
Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Office Duty Manager to oversee our reception, guest relations, and daily front-of-house operations during assigned shifts. In this role, you will act as the Manager on Duty, ensuring seamless check-ins and check-outs, managing VIP arrivals, and handling guest escalations with grace and professionalism. You will lead by example, supporting front desk agents and coordinating closely with Housekeeping and Maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Supervision: Manage front office operations during your shift, ensuring adequate staffing and smooth workflows.
- Guest Relations & Problem Solving: Personally greet VIP guests, monitor lobby traffic, and step in to resolve escalated guest complaints or special requests promptly.
- Operational Coordination: Communicate constantly with Housekeeping to track room readiness/turnaround times, and with Maintenance regarding any guest room defects.
- Financial & Administrative Oversight: Supervise cash handling, daily shift reconciliations, billing accuracy, and authorize routine rate overrides, rebates, or allowances as per hotel policy.
- Team Coaching: Conduct shift briefings, mentor front desk agents on Property Management Systems (PMS), and provide on-the-spot coaching to maintain service standards.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce hotel security policies, handle emergency situations calmly, and document all incidents accurately in the shift log/handover report.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel front office operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory, team lead, or senior guest relations role.
- Software Knowledge: Hands-on experience with hotel Property Management Systems.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a polished, professional presentation.
- Temperament: Calm under pressure, strong conflict-resolution skills, and a natural hospitality-first mindset.
- Flexibility: Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,200.00 per month
