Job Description
Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Daily Operations
l Supervise and coordinate daily site activities and ensure works are carried out according to project requirements, approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
l Coordinate site workers, subcontractors and other project personnel.
l Plan daily work activities, manpower, materials, tools and equipment requirements.
l Monitor work progress and ensure activities are completed according to the project schedule.
l Ensure proper sequencing and coordination of different work activities.
l Monitor workmanship and ensure completed works meet the required quality standards.
l Identify site issues, constraints and delays and report them to the Project Manager.
2. Project & Site Coordination
l Coordinate with the Project Manager, client representatives, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on day-to-day site matters.
l Attend site meetings and provide updates on work progress, manpower, materials, safety and outstanding issues.
l Coordinate material deliveries, equipment and access requirements.
l Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
l Maintain proper records of site activities, manpower, deliveries and progress.
l Assist the Project Manager with site reports, progress updates and documentation.
3. Safety Supervision – SSS Functions
l Carry out Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) functions and monitor compliance with applicable safety requirements and
client site rules.
l Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
l Ensure appropriate safety control measures are implemented before and during work activities.
l Monitor workers and subcontractors for compliance with safe working practices.
l Stop or suspend unsafe work where an immediate safety risk is identified and escalate the matter accordingly.
4. Safety Documentation & Compliance
l Prepare, maintain and update relevant safety documentation, including JHA/JSA, risk assessments, method
statements and safety checklists.
l Ensure required permits and approvals are obtained before high-risk activities commence.
l Maintain records of safety inspections, toolbox meetings, permits, observations and corrective actions.
l Assist in preparing safety reports and documentation required by the client or project team.
5. Toolbox Meetings & Safety Briefings
l Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings as required.
l Communicate work hazards, safe work procedures, PPE requirements and control measures to workers.
l Ensure workers understand the risks associated with their assigned activities.
l Provide additional safety briefings when work activities or site conditions change.
6. High-Risk Work Monitoring
l Monitor safety requirements for activities such as work at height, hot work/welding, lifting operations, electrical
works, mobile machinery operations, confined space work, and work positioning/fall protection.
l Ensure appropriate permits, risk assessments and safety controls are in place before work starts.
7. Manpower & Subcontractor Supervision
l Monitor daily manpower and deployment of workers.
l Provide work instructions and coordinate daily activities.
l Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with project, quality and safety requirements.
l Monitor subcontractor work progress and workmanship.
l Follow up on safety, quality and rectification issues.
8. Quality & Workmanship Control
l Inspect ongoing and completed works to ensure compliance with project requirements.
l Identify defects, incomplete works and non-conforming work.
l Coordinate rectification and follow up until satisfactory completion.
l Ensure completed works are properly protected from damage.
9. Site Housekeeping & Environmental Control
l Ensure the site is maintained in a clean, organized and safe condition.
l Monitor material storage and housekeeping standards.
l Ensure access routes and emergency exits remain clear.
l Monitor proper handling and disposal of waste.
l Ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent spills and environmental hazards.
10. Incident & Emergency Management
l Assist in responding to accidents, incidents, near misses and emergencies.
l Ensure incidents are promptly reported to the appropriate parties.
l Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
l Participate in emergency response procedures and drills where required.
11. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
l Monitor actual site progress against the project schedule.
l Report delays, manpower shortages, material shortages and site constraints.
l Provide regular site photographs and progress updates.
l Maintain daily site records.
l Escalate critical project, safety and operational issues to the Project Manager.
12. General Responsibilities
l Ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
l Maintain good communication and coordination with the project team and client.
l Promote a positive safety culture among workers and subcontractors.
l Ensure proper discipline and professional conduct on site.
l Perform other reasonable site supervision, coordination and safety-related duties assigned by the Project Manager.
KEY REQUIREMENT FOR THE POSITION
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of project site activities, while also carrying out the required Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) functions to ensure safe working practices and compliance with project and client safety requirements.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
