Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Job Title: Western Chef / Kitchen Staff
  • Job Type: Permanent / Full-time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pizza and Pasta Chef to join our kitchen staff. You will prepare high-quality, delicious pizzas and handmade pasta based on both traditional and modern recipes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in culinary excellence, food presentation, and maintaining strict kitchen hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

  • Hand-stretch dough and cook fresh pasta to prepare authentic Italian dishes.
  • Heat sauces and assemble toppings accurately to ensure consistent flavor and presentation.
  • Operate and monitor pizza ovens and cook pasta, executing all dishes to standard including special requests and dietary modifications such as lactose intolerance.
  • Prepare and organize ingredients by washing, chopping, and prepping ahead of peak service hours to maintain an efficient and clean workstation.
  • Monitor food stock levels, apply FIFO (First-In-First-Out) rotation, and place supply orders to prevent shortages and reduce waste.
  • Maintain a clean cooking station and sterilize equipment daily to comply with local food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, communicate effectively, and manage time efficiently under pressure to deliver excellent customer service and memorable dining experiences.
  • Stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Required competencies and certifications

  • Valid WSQ Food Hygiene Certificate as mandated for food service workers in Singapore.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience as a western food chef with knowledge of alcohol sales.
  • Basic knowledge of authentic Italian cuisine, dough fermentation/proofing, and professional kitchen equipment such as electric ovens, mixers, induction stoves, dough rollers, and pasta extruders.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Warm and friendly professional attitude focused on exceptional customer service.

  • The role requires flexibility to work weekends and public holidays.
