Responsibilities

This role will be based in Campbell Cheong Chan (PJ).


Summary of the role:

The Product QA Officer supports daily quality assurance and laboratory testing activities to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards. The role is responsible for conducting product testing, sampling, documentation, and quality checks, while working closely with Production and QA teams to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance. This position also helps ensure consistent QA coverage, timely issue resolution, and stable product quality throughout the production process.


What you’ll be doing

(a) Provide Quality Control Services

  • Perform required analysis for in-process and finished products according to the sample size and frequency as stated in HACCP and QUACP.
  • Ensure analytical results are accurate and available on time to support product release.
  • Highlight any out-of-specification (OOS) results promptly and support re-testing or verification where required.
  • Ensure analytical results are properly documented in the appropriate records/forms for traceability and retrieval.
  • Provide support to other QA functions or areas as required.
  • Conduct product analysis for special batches, NPDs, and when required.
  • Coordinate and ensure retention samples are properly maintained.
  • Ensure all testing and records are completed in compliance with defined procedures and within required timelines.
  • Carry out related duties as assigned by superior.


(b) Support Ontime Product Release

  • Support product release or on-hold decisions as requested by the Quality Process Lead, based on laboratory test results and required documentation.
  • Support and perform relevant pre-requisite programmes (PRPs), including calibration, sanitation, and environmental monitoring.


(c) Maintain Good Laboratory Practices & Safety

  • Maintain a consistent, reliable and accurate analytical works and records.
  • Follow sampling and testing procedures in accordance with laboratory SOPs and work instructions.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment and apparatus are in good condition and report any deviations promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness s and good housekeeping (5s) at the workstation and in the laboratory.
  • Prepare reagents & analytical solutions in accordance with laboratory requirements and GLP.
  • Monitor laboratory consumables and highlight to superior for replenishment when required.
  • Arrange for samples to be sent to customers or external laboratories when required.


(d) Co-ordination of Quality Issues

  • Follow up on stock requests from warehouse related to quality activities.
  • Support quality issue investigation as assigned by the superior or Quality Process Lead.
  • Support traceability activities during quality issue investigation.
  • Assist in non-conforming product identification, segregation, and control of QA hold stocks.
  • Support and monitor product sorting activities when required.


(e) Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & Safety

  • Support hygiene, housekeeping, and safety activities within the department and production areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping at the workstation.
  • Highlight any GMP non-compliance observed and work with Production to close the gaps.


Requirements:

  • Diploma holder in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year working experience in a relevant field.
  • Preferably hands-on exposure to microbiological testing, in addition to food safety, quality assurance, and laboratory practices.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety and quality management systems, and documentation control requirements.
  • Able to review and organize technical documents such as certificates of analysis, production records, testing reports, and traceability records



Travel Requirements:

  • Willing and able to travel occasionally for co-manufacturer visits, warehouse support, audits, GMP verification, trials, or issue follow-up activities.
  • Travel independently for local assignments as required by the business.
