At The Elly Store, our purpose is "Doing small things with great love." We make children's clothing, baby essentials, first shoes, gifts and family twinning pieces, including our Disney | elly collections.

As a full-time Retail Specialist, you'll help make our store a warm and welcoming place for families and gift buyers. You'll look after customers, keep the store looking beautiful and help the team run each shift smoothly. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with parents and children, takes pride in doing things well, and is ready to take on more ownership than a part-time role.

This is a 6-month full-time contract, with the possibility of extension or conversion based on performance.

What you'll do

Give customers great service

• Greet and help customers warmly, whether they're shopping for their own family or buying a gift
• Understand what each customer needs and recommend the right products, including gift ideas for newborns, 100 days, birthdays and first shoes
• Measure little feet and advise on first walker shoe sizing with confidence
• Engage children in a positive way so shopping feels fun for the whole family
• Follow up on customer enquiries, special requests and personalisation orders until they are done

Own the shift

• Open and close the store, following the checklists
• Lead the shift when no senior team member is present, and act as the go-to person for part-time Retail Advisors
• Help new part-timers learn the products, store routines and service standards
• Give a clear handover to the next team member at the end of each shift

Keep the store clean, organised and inviting

• Keep the selling floor tidy throughout the day
• Refill products quickly and put misplaced items back where they belong
• Wipe down shelves and keep the play and display areas clean and hygienic

Look after stock and displays

• Keep the backroom organised so stock is easy to find
• Receive incoming stock, check it accurately and restock the shelves
• Keep in touch with the warehouse on stock checks, top-ups and transfers
• Set up and maintain product displays that follow the visual merchandising guidelines

Support sales and operations

• Wrap and pack purchases with care, especially gifts
• Handle cashiering accurately, including end-of-day cash counts
• Help with ordering and receiving new stock

• Customer compliments and positive mentions
• Strong product knowledge, especially shoe sizing, gifting and toy recommendations

Sales

• Hits weekly and monthly store sales targets

Store standards

• Selling floor tidy checks completed 100% at mid-shift and end of shift
• All items in place during visual walk-throughs
• Backroom kept organised

Accuracy and leadership

• Stock processed accurately
• Cash register balanced at close
• Opening and closing checklists completed on every shift
• Clear, complete handover notes on every shift
• Part-timers on shift are supported and know what to prioritise

What we're looking for

• Diploma or higher
• At least 1 year of retail or customer service experience preferred (experience with children's, gifting or premium retail is a plus)
• Warm, patient and courteous, with real initiative
• Calm and organised when the store is busy
• Comfortable guiding others and taking charge of a shift
• Able to work 5 days a week on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
• Able to work at both One Holland Village and Takashimaya as needed
• Able to commit to the full 6-month contract
