Responsibilities

We are seeking candidates with 7+ years' post-qualification experience, gained within leading international law firms and/or financial institutions, with strong experience advising on Debt Capital Markets transactions across Southeast Asia and broader APAC markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record supporting issuers, underwriters and financial institutions on bond offerings, note programmes and other debt issuances, and be comfortable providing commercially focused legal advice throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Who are we looking for?

There is currently an increased demand for experienced Debt Capital Markets lawyers to support a leading global investment bank operating across Southeast Asia and international capital markets. We are interested in legally trained professionals with the following attributes:


  • 7+ years PQE gained within a leading international law firm and/or in-house legal team supporting investment banking, capital markets, or financial services organisations.
  • Qualified to practise law in a common law jurisdiction.
  • Strong experience advising on Debt Capital Markets transactions, including bond offerings, note issuances, EMTN/GMTN programmes, high-yield and investment-grade debt transactions, sustainability-linked bonds, green bonds, and other debt securities.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting issuers, arrangers, underwriters and financial institutions on capital markets transactions across Southeast Asia and APAC markets.
  • Experience advising on Regulation S and Rule 144A offerings, offering circulars, programme agreements, subscription agreements, trust deeds, agency agreements and other transaction documentation.
  • Sound understanding of applicable securities laws, listing rules, disclosure obligations and capital markets regulatory frameworks across key regional jurisdictions.
  • Experience managing external counsel and engaging with regulators, listing authorities, trustees, investment bankers and other key stakeholders in an effective and commercially minded manner.
  • Familiarity with international debt issuance programmes, structured funding transactions, corporate treasury functions and bank regulatory capital issuances will be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the confidence to provide practical, commercially focused advice to senior business leaders.
  • Able to operate independently while collaborating effectively across legal, compliance, business, risk and transaction execution teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available to commence on short notice is preferred.
