Responsibilities
Overall Function: Assistant Contract Manager is responsible for managing the entire life cycle of contracts. This includes drafting, negotiating, and ensuring proper execution and compliance across all contract phases. The role involves close coordination with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management
· Oversee all pre- and post-contract activities, including the preparation of final accounts for infrastructure, building, and defect rectification works.
Payment & Claims Verification
· Evaluate and verify contractor and subcontractor claims, recommend payments, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and quality standards.
Tendering Process
· Plan and manage the full tender process from document preparation and specification selection to conducting interviews and evaluations. Recommend cost-effective and quality-driven construction solutions.
Budget & Cost Control
· Prepare overall project budgets. Monitor construction costs and manage variation orders to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Site Inspections & Quality Control
· Conduct regular site visits to track construction progress, verify adherence to contract specifications, and ensure quality standards are met.
Progress Claims & Final Accounts
· Review and prepare progress claims and final accounts for all contractual engagements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Contractor Performance Monitoring
· Evaluate contractor performance based on workmanship, compliance, schedule adherence, and responsiveness to site instructions.
Ad Hoc Duties
· Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the company in line with organizational goals and operational needs.
Job Requirements:
Education:
· Minimum Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Building, or a related discipline
Experience:
· 5-10 years of relevant experience in contract administration (pre-and post-contract), planning, cost control, and handling contractual matters.
Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and negotiation skills
· Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities
· In-depth understanding of construction industry practices
· Proven experience in managing tight deadlines and complex schedules
· Strong industry network (consultants, subcontractors, suppliers)
· Ability to manage teams and resources effectively
Pay: Up to RM8,500.00 per month
