Role Description The Management Trainee role is a full-time, on-site position based at Birkin International Hotel in Melaka. The Management Trainee will rotate through key hotel departments, such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Sports & Recreation, to learn daily operations and service standards. Responsibilities include supporting managers with shift planning, assisting in handling guest inquiries and feedback, monitoring service quality, and helping coordinate internal communication between departments. The role also involves learning basic administrative tasks, reviewing operational reports, and participating in training sessions to develop leadership, problem-solving, and hospitality management skills. Over time, the Management Trainee will be prepared to take on supervisory responsibilities and contribute to continuous improvement of guest experience.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and guest relations skills, with a genuine interest in hospitality and creating positive guest experiences.
• Basic understanding of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage, or willingness to learn these areas.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team and interact professionally with guests.
• Organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving guest issues and operational challenges.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required in a hotel environment.
• Diploma or degree in hospitality management, tourism, business, or a related field is preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages commonly used by guests are an advantage.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with office software; experience with hotel management systems is beneficial.
