Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly meticulous and process-driven Social Operations Team Lead / Assistant Manager to join Cheil Malaysia Team, supporting Samsung’s global social media operations. This is a hands-on social media operations and content quality-control role with team leadership responsibilities. In addition to reviewing and validating social media content, you will lead a team of Social Operations Executives, ensuring work is effectively assigned, tracked and delivered accurately within timelines.

As the day-to-day operational lead for the KL team, you will work closely with the Singapore team to manage priorities, traffic workflows, resourcing and escalations. You will be expected to maintain a strong overview of everything moving through the team while also being equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and handling validation work yourself.

The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, high-volume environment, can confidently manage both people and processes, and remains calm and decisive when priorities shift or timelines become tight.

Job Descriptions:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a team of Social Operations Executives, providing guidance, oversight and support across their work.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the KL operations team and the Singapore team, ensuring priorities, instructions, updates and escalations are communicated clearly and promptly.
  • Manage daily traffic and workflow allocation, assigning incoming content requests based on priorities, deadlines, complexity and team capacity.
  • Maintain visibility across all active requests and proactively identify potential bottlenecks, resource gaps, missed deadlines or operational risks before they impact delivery.
  • Review and validate social media content before publication, checking against platform, content and brand guidelines.
  • Personally manage content validation and operational requests alongside the team, particularly during high-volume periods, urgent requests or complex validations.
  • Perform secondary quality checks where required, ensuring the team consistently delivers accurate work and maintains expected quality standards.
  • Write, edit and adapt copy where required, with a strong command of grammar, spelling, punctuation and tone of voice.
  • Ensure the team follows established SOPs, checklists, naming conventions, documentation and validation processes consistently.
  • Maintain accurate trackers and provide the Singapore team with clear visibility on content status, workload, outstanding actions, risks and expected completion timelines.
  • Coordinate closely with teams in Singapore, Vietnam and Korea to ensure seamless execution of global content workflows.
  • Manage urgent or last-minute requests, reorganising workloads and priorities where necessary to meet changing business requirements.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate matters to the Singapore team with clear context, recommended next steps and expected impact.
  • Support the onboarding and training of Social Operations Executives, ensuring new team members understand processes, quality expectations and ways of working.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to strengthen team accuracy, speed, judgement and operational discipline.
  • Monitor individual and overall team performance, identifying recurring errors or workflow issues and recommending improvements.
  • Ensure adequate team coverage across required operating hours, peak periods and major campaign or launch periods.
  • Support community management and engagement activities where required, including monitoring and identifying relevant KOL, partner and media content opportunities.
  • Maintain a high level of accountability for the overall quality and operational performance of the KL team.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related fields.
  • Min. of 3-year experience in social media operations, content management, quality assurance or other detail-heavy digital role.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising or coordinating a small team is strongly preferred.
  • Strong operational and traffic-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous workstreams, deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot inconsistencies, typos, formatting errors, missing information and potential compliance issues.
  • Strong written English, with the confidence to review and correct copy as well as provide clear written instructions to the team.
  • Able to interpret detailed guidelines and translate them into clear actions for others.
  • Comfortable working with structured processes, SOPs, trackers and repetitive workflows without allowing quality or concentration to drop.
  • Able to remain organized and composed under pressure, particularly when managing urgent requests and tight turnaround times.
  • Confident communicating with senior and regional stakeholders and comfortable being accountable to a team based in another market.
  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, including knowing what can be resolved independently and what needs to be escalated.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the mindset that the team's output is ultimately your responsibility.
  • Familiarity with major social platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Able to commence in October 2026 for a 6-month contract, with potential extension based on performance.
  • Willing to work overtime as required by the business.
  • Eligible for applicable statutory contributions in accordance with employment regulations.
