The Plant Finance Manager will oversee all financial aspects of the Pea Protein Plant, including financial planning, asset capitalization, cost control, internal controls, and reporting. This role involves maintaining effective communication with joint venture partners, working closely with plant management, managing key financial controls, and supporting banking and financial institution relations to ensure the plant's financial health and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for the plant operations.
- Oversee asset capitalization, fixed asset management, and related accounting policies.
- Monitor production costs, inventory, raw material usage, and ensure compliance with asset capitalization standards.
- Lead the implementation of procurement, production, inventory, logistics and finance modules of the ERP for the plant and work with corporate teams to implement underlying global practices.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including asset capitalization and financial reconciliations.
- Implement and monitor key internal controls within the plant to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Facilitate effective communication between joint venture partners regarding financial and operational performance.
- Collaborate with plant managers, production, procurement, and quality teams to gather accurate operational data.
- Assist in managing relationships with banks and financial institutions, supporting communication related to banking facilities, credit lines, and other financial arrangements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Lead evaluation and approval of capital expenditure proposals, overseeing asset onboarding and capitalization processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy, cost efficiency, and operational performance.
- Contribute to risk management and internal control frameworks across plant functions.
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of food experience in Plant finance with bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field, preferably a chartered accountant or chartered works accountant.
- Proven experience in food manufacturing finance, asset management, cost control, or plant finance leadership.
- Proficiency with financial systems, ERP software, and asset management tools.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and international partners.
- Experience working with joint ventures is preferred.
- Fluency in English; Japanese language skills are advantageous.
