Role Overview
As a Senior Copywriter at Mediatropy, you'll play a key role in shaping how brands think, speak and connect with their audiences. You’ll work closely with Art Directors, Designers, Strategists, Account Managers and other specialists to develop creative concepts and bring them to life across digital campaigns, social media, websites, content, video, integrated campaigns and more.
Beyond writing great copy, we’re looking for someone who can think creatively, challenge ideas, contribute to the bigger concept and take ownership of projects from brief to execution. You’ll also have the opportunity to guide junior creatives and help raise the overall quality of our work.
Responsibilities
- Develop strong creative concepts, campaign ideas and copy across digital, social, content and integrated campaigns.
- Write clear, compelling and engaging copy across a variety of formats, including social media, websites, digital campaigns, video scripts, headlines, taglines, EDMs and branded content.
- Translate client briefs, business objectives and audience insights into creative ideas and effective communication.
- Partner closely with Art Directors and Designers to develop integrated concepts where words and visuals work together.
- Collaborate with Strategists, Account Managers and other teams to ensure creative work is relevant, effective and aligned with the brand.
- Take ownership of copy and creative projects from initial concept through to final execution.
- Present and articulate creative ideas clearly to internal teams and, where required, clients.
- Develop and maintain strong brand voices and tone-of-voice guidelines across different brands and campaigns.
- Edit, refine and proofread content to ensure accuracy, consistency and a high standard of craft.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to junior Copywriters and other members of the creative team.
- Stay curious about culture, social trends, emerging platforms and new ways of communicating to keep our work fresh and relevant.
- Contribute ideas beyond the brief and actively participate in creative brainstorming and agency initiatives.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of creative output.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Copywriter or Senior Copywriter within a creative, digital or advertising agency environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative campaigns, digital content and copywriting work.
- Excellent command of written English, with a strong eye for tone, grammar, structure and detail.
- Strong conceptual thinking — able to develop ideas, not just execute copy from a brief.
- Ability to adapt writing style and tone across different brands, industries and audiences.
- Good understanding of digital platforms, social media and contemporary content trends.
- Comfortable collaborating with Art Directors, Designers, Strategists, Account teams and clients.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to explain and defend creative thinking.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
- A proactive and curious mindset, with a genuine interest in culture, brands, people and ideas.
- Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior creatives would be an advantage.
