Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont Kiara marked the first Hyatt House hotel in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Located in Mont Kiara, an affluent suburb just five kilometres from downtown Kuala Lumpur, the hotel features approximately 298 guestrooms, a three-meal restaurant, 3,100 square feet of meeting space, a fitness centre, and a sky pool. As part of the larger mixed-use development, Arcoris Mont Kiara, the property is integrated within a vibrant community comprising business suites, small office/home office (SoHo) units, residential apartments, and a retail plaza.

We are currently looking for an experienced Finance Manager - Finance & Administration to lead the Finance and Administration Department and be responsible for all aspects of finance, accounting, purchasing, and information systems.

You will direct and manage the smooth and efficient operation of the Finance & Accounting Division while upholding Hyatt's high standards of financial management. You will also be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the department in line with Hyatt's corporate strategies and brand standards, while meeting the expectations of associates, guests, and owners.

You will lead the hotel's daily financial operations and administrative functions in alignment with corporate finance policies and under the guidance of ASPAC Select Corporate Finance. Working closely with the General Manager, Director of Sales, Operations leaders, and other department heads, you will ensure sound financial management, operational efficiency, and strong business performance.

The role requires monitoring and controlling financial activities, providing accurate analysis and business support to optimize revenue, maximize profitability, and improve RevPAR performance. You will ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements, safeguard hotel assets, and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction through effective and cost-efficient financial practices.

As a member of the hotel's senior leadership team, the Finance Manager - Finance & Administration is a highly visible role with exposure to hotel and corporate leadership. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

In addition to leading the Finance Department, this position will oversee the hotel's administrative functions, including Information Systems and Purchasing. The role is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling these functions through the effective implementation of policies, procedures, operational controls, and administrative standards.

An individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong commercial acumen, you will be confident, proactive, and results-driven. You are recognized for your ability to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels of the organization. Detail-oriented and analytical, you possess a proven ability to improve business performance while resolving challenges involving associates, guests, and operational teams. You must be capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and be willing to take a hands-on approach when supporting other departments across the hotel.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications and requirements:

  • Demonstrate a passion and proven results for coaching and leading hotel team members to achieve team success
  • Demonstrate an ability to use Finance Management Reporting Systems order to make fact based decisions that makes commercial sense and will benefit the profitability and efficiency of the hotel
  • Previous hotel finance experience with hotel properties or serviced residences that have over 230 rooms will be preferred due to the complexity of the financial management process. Previous hotel pre-opening experience in finance matters, will be a significant added advantage
  • Possess a Degree or Diploma in Finance or Accounting. CA certification will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 6 years or more work experience in a senior role within an international chain hotel finance department and have led a team of finance associates.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. The ability to converse in other languages will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and lead hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting and cash management
  • Be confident in assisting to nurture the important relationship with the owners. Be responsible for supervising and coordinating owner reporting as required.
  • Demonstrate a flair to prepare and review all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department managers in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement
  • Demonstrate the ability to supervise the Information Technology function. Additionally have a sound understanding of the hotel operational and back office systems as well as Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrate the ability to have a sound understanding of the forecasting system and the tools from Revenue Management to ensure forecasting accuracy is achieved.
