Role Description The Application Engineering Intern role at HOYA Electronics is a full-time on-site position based in Kulim. The intern will assist in providing application and technical support for photomask blank products, including helping to resolve customer inquiries and participating in troubleshooting activities. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and analyzing technical data, supporting product evaluations, documenting findings, and preparing reports or presentations for internal teams. The intern will collaborate with engineering and production staff to understand product requirements, performance issues, and potential improvements. This role offers hands-on experience in a semiconductor-related environment and opportunities to develop practical engineering and communication skills.

- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, evaluate product performance, and support problem-solving activities.
- Candidates should possess Application Support and Technical Support skills to assist internal teams and customers with product usage, configuration, and basic issue resolution.
- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills to help identify root causes of product or process issues and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to clearly document technical findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes or interest in the semiconductor industry is beneficial.
- Proficiency in standard office and data analysis tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation software) is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Kulim, demonstrate attention to detail, and follow safety and quality procedures.
