Position Overview – Job Description (Non-Counselling Role)
ECTA is seeking a committed counselling professional to join our team as
Senior Head of Department(HOD), Clinical Services
.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in the management and delivery of ECTA’s Practicum and Supervision functions. The position requires strong clinical, supervisory, administrative, and interpersonal competencies, together with a student-centred approach to supporting counsellors-in-training throughout their practicum journey.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Academic Director in the implementation and management of the Practicum and Supervision Department in alignment with ECTA’s organisational goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations and delivery of the Practicum and Supervision programmes.
Oversee student practicum and supervision matters, providing appropriate guidance and support to students and Clinical Supervisors.
Manage and monitor Practicum Contracts and students’ electronic logs (e-Logs) relating to practicum hours and supervision hours.
Ensure that Service Agreements with all Practicum Sites are properly maintained and comply with ECTA’s policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Ensure that all administrative systems, documentation, and processes are maintained and updated in accordance with EduTrust requirements.
Assist the Clinical Director in the appointment of Clinical Supervisors for enrolled students.
Assist the Clinical Director in reviewing and approving student self-sourced Practicum Sites.
Assist the Clinical Director in matching students to Clinical Supervisors.
Provide support and guidance to students experiencing personal or academic challenges, adopting a strong student-centred and supportive approach.
In the absence of the Clinical Director, conduct Course Orientations, Course Closures, Course Previews, and Practicum Briefings.
Conduct weekly visits to the Ghim Moh Practicum Site to provide support and guidance in relation to complex cases.
Conduct annual visits to all Practicum Sites to review practicum arrangements, student support, and site engagement.
Identify and establish relationships with new Practicum Sites for ECTA.
Meet with students at least once a month to provide support, address concerns, and monitor their practicum progress.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Counselling or a Master’s degree in Counselling.
Strong written and spoken communication skills.
Strong presentation, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
Excellent relational and people-management skills.
The ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and exercise sound professional judgement.
The ability to serve as a reliable resource person for ECTA, students, and Clinical Supervisors.
Familiarity with Google Forms and/or Google Surveys.
Relevant professional experience in counselling, practicum management, or related areas will be an advantage.
ECTA Benefits
Monthly gross salary:
S$5,700, excluding employer CPF contributions.
Contract:
One-year Contract of Service, renewable upon satisfactory completion and performance.
Medical benefits:
Up to S$750 per annum in medical reimbursement.
Annual leave:
14 days per year.
Group Hospitalisation Insurance.
Personal Accident Insurance.
Professional Indemnity Insurance:
Coverage of up to S$1 million.
Working hours:
In accordance with applicable Ministry of Manpower regulations and policies.
Professional Development:
Up to S$1,000 per year for approved professional development activities.
Transportation:
Transportation expenses may be claimed for work-related duties ending after 8.00 p.m., in accordance with ECTA’s applicable policy.
