SENIOR LECTURER ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTHCARE SECTION, UNIKL MESTECH

KEY ROLES :

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory practicals, and field-based learning sessions for OSH-related courses.
• Teach subjects including Industrial Hygiene, HIRARC, Occupational Ergonomics, OSH Legislation & Compliance, Fire Safety & Emergency Response, Environmental Health, Occupational Toxicology, and Safety Management Systems.
• Develop, update, and review course materials, module guides, CLOs, PLOs, and assessment instruments.
• Ensure curriculum and assessments comply with MQA Programme Standards, MQF, and relevant OSH requirements.
• Supervise undergraduate FYPs and postgraduate research in OSH and related areas.
• Conduct independent and collaborative research in OSH and related disciplines.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed and indexed journals, including Scopus/ISI-indexed publications.
• Contribute to self-assessment reports, audit preparations, audit visits, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with industries, government agencies, and professional bodies, including DOSH, NIOSH, and PERKESO.
• Undertake OSH consultancy, advisory, and industry-related activities.

REQUIREMENTS :

• PhD in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Industrial Hygiene, or a related field from an MQA-recognised university.
• Alternatively, a Master’s Degree in OSH or a related field with a minimum 5 years of teaching/research experience or minimum 3 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Professional certification is an added advantage, such as: registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH Malaysia, NEBOSH Diploma, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent professional certification.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in teaching/academic at the tertiary level and industry experience in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or related fields.
• Demonstrated research experience with publications in peer-reviewed or indexed journals related to OSH.
• Experience in curriculum development and MQA/JPA programme accreditation processes.
• Strong knowledge of current OSH practices, standards, regulations, and industry requirements.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia.
• Active membership in relevant professional bodies such as the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) or the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
