Role purpose

SQL View is seeking a curious and organised Product Specialist to help improve and deliver our enterprise software products, including KRIS. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build a long-term career in product management. You will work closely with product, engineering, quality assurance, customer-facing, and operations colleagues to turn customer and business needs into well-documented, usable product improvements.

The role begins with guided responsibility for assigned features, product materials, customer feedback, and delivery activities. As you develop sound product judgment and can independently lead small product areas from discovery to release, you will have a defined opportunity to progress towards an Associate Product Manager and subsequently a Product Manager role.

What you will do Support product discovery and delivery

• Gather, organise, and validate requirements from customers, internal stakeholders, support cases, product usage observations, and market research.
• Draft product requirement documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows with guidance from the product team.
• Maintain backlog hygiene by documenting requests clearly, following up on open questions, and helping the team prepare work for prioritisation and sprint planning.
• Work with designers, developers, and quality assurance colleagues to clarify requirements, identify gaps, and support user acceptance testing.
• Assist with reviews of user journeys and interface designs, with particular attention to clarity for first-time and less-experienced users.
• Help prepare and evaluate prototypes or proof-of-concept features, including emerging capabilities such as AI related technologies where relevant.

Learn from customers and support commercial activities

• Support product demonstrations, tender presentations, requests for information, and partner materials by preparing tailored product content, demo environments, and simple prototypes.
• Capture customer needs, pain points, objections, and product feedback accurately; translate recurring themes into structured insights for the product team.
• Conduct desk research on customer workflows, relevant industries, competitors, and potential new use cases.
• Assist the team in distinguishing product opportunities from one-off customisation requests and documenting the business rationale for proposed work.

Contribute to product quality and operations

• Help triage and document escalated product-support issues, coordinating with the appropriate teams and keeping stakeholders informed under supervision.
• Maintain product documentation, knowledge-base articles, configuration guides, and internal reference materials so that teams and customers can use the product effectively.
• Support release coordination, including communication materials, readiness checklists, and follow-up on issues after release.

What success looks like

In the first six months, a successful Product Specialist will become confident with the product domain, write clear and testable requirements for assigned work, keep product information accurate, and reliably support demos, feedback capture, and release activities. The role should be known for thoughtful follow-through, clear communication, and an ability to learn from customer and delivery-team interactions.

As experience grows, success means taking increasing ownership of a small feature set or use case. This includes researching the problem, proposing options, explaining user and business value, coordinating delivery with the team, and learning from the outcome after release.

Qualifications and experience

We welcome applications from fresh graduates and candidates with up to two years of relevant experience. Experience gained through internships, projects, customer-facing technology roles, business analysis, software quality assurance, or pre-sales support will be considered.

You should have:

• A recognised bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Design, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to make complex information clear and concise.
• A structured approach to problem solving, documentation, and follow-up.
• Genuine interest in how software products are discovered, designed, built, launched, and improved.
• Comfort working with detail while keeping sight of the user’s objective and the business context.
• Ability to collaborate respectfully with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Willingness to learn enterprise workflows, document or content management, and the technical concepts relevant to the product.

Advantageous, but not required

Experience with Jira, Confluence, product backlog tools, software testing, wireframing or prototyping tools, CRM systems, enterprise software, document management, workflow automation, or product demonstrations is helpful. Exposure to AI-enabled business software, business-process analysis, or government and enterprise tender processes is also an advantage. Training and mentorship will be provided; applicants do not need prior Product Manager experience.
