This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and management of safety and security programs to provide a safe and secure environment for students, employees and visitors in the school. This position will also assist in safeguarding school premises and assets while supporting the effective implementation of security operations and emergency preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing and implementing policies, plans, and procedures to support and improve the School’s safety and security programs.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the safety and security measures. Recommend and implement new initiatives and improvements to the safety and security management program, particularly in areas such as emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
- Conduct regular walkthrough inspections and work closely with the Security Coordinator and Facilities Manager to ensure adherence to safety and security standards.
- Assist in supervising and monitoring the contract security personnel and provide feedback on their performance where required.
- Assist in checking attendance of security personnel, RELA, etc.
- Assist in coordinating with security personnel, RELA and staff on traffic control during peak hours to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Work with the school administrator in charge during crisis and emergency situations to ensure plans are followed and situations are resolved effectively.
- Assist in planning and coordinating security arrangements for school events such as public events, sport events, open days and other extracurricular activities.
- Maintain good working relationships with parents, staff and stakeholder groups including neighborhood/residents associations, police, RELA and local authorities.
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating security and emergency response training programs for all security personnel.
- Assist in investigating and reviewing reports on and resolve security incidents, threats and breaches and prepare incident reports, when required.
- Inspect and ensure that all fire safety equipment is properly installed and readily accessible at respective locations.
- Perform other related and ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum a SPM certificate or Diploma in relevant field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in security, safety, operations or a related field. Experience in a school or educational environment will be an advantage.
- Experience in coordinating or working with contract security personnel, RELA, police or other relevant authorities will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of safety, security, emergency preparedness and risk management practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends or public holidays, when required for school events or emergency situations.
Pay: From RM4,000.00 per month
