Finance Transformation Consultant – Forecasting & Automation

Kuala Lumpur | Contract

We are looking for an experienced Finance Transformation / FP&A Consultant to support a leading global organisation on a project to redesign, simplify, and automate its Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting processes.

This is a hands-on transformation role requiring someone who combines strong finance and forecasting expertise with the ability to challenge existing methodologies, improve forecasting models and implement practical automation.

Key responsibilities:

• Review the existing Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting methodology and processes
• Assess key assumptions, drivers and dependencies and identify opportunities for improvement
• Redesign and simplify forecasting models and processes to improve efficiency and usability
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual forecasting activities
• Improve the integration and flow of financial data into the forecasting process
• Test and validate the redesigned forecasting approach
• Work closely with Finance stakeholders to ensure the new process is practical, sustainable and can be effectively transitioned into BAU

We're looking for someone with:

• Strong FP&A, Finance Transformation or Financial Modelling experience
• Demonstrated experience designing or improving Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting
• Strong understanding of working capital, Balance Sheet drivers and financial statement relationships
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
• Hands-on experience simplifying and automating finance processes
• Exposure to tools such as Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, VBA, SQL or similar
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to independently deliver a project from assessment through implementation

Experience within a complex multinational, FMCG, consumer, retail or similar environment would be advantageous.

This opportunity would suit someone who can go beyond operating an existing forecasting process — understanding how it works, challenging and improving the methodology, and then building a simpler and more automated solution.
