We are seeking a details-driven Clerk of Work (CoW) to oversee on-site construction activities and ensure total adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and governmental regulations. In this role, you will act as the key on-site quality controller inspecting materials, monitoring workforce progress, identifying potential design issues early, and maintaining accurate project logbooks. You will liaise closely with contractors, engineers, architects, and surveyors to drive high-quality workmanship and ensure the timely, compliant completion of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that the construction company is following all building plans.

• Measure and quality check building material, take samples and measurements from the site to ensure work and material meets the quality standards.

• Highlight specific building design issues before they affect the construction activity.

• Monitor the construction process and create progress reports required by the client.

• Ensure timely delivery of construction projects.

• Check if the building adheres to the building regulations, fire and safety, legal and ecological requirements as mandated by the government.

• Identify defects in the construction project and suggest changes.

• Liaison with contractors, engineers, architects and surveyors.

• Create a logbook containing the project's progress and submit the report regurlarly.

• supervise the workforce carrying the construction activities.

• Other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned by the company from time to time.

What we're looking for

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or any related fields.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project, building construction or any similar role.

• Possess a CIDB Green Card is mandatory.

• Experience holding position as CoW or work in construction industry will be added an advantage.

• Strong communication, analytical skills and multitasking abilities.

• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and meet deadlines.

• Have excellent observational skills, along with advanced knowledge of construction.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
