AI ENGINEER (FORWARD DEPLOYED)

A hands-on engineering role on a Searce squad deployed into customer environments - building, debugging, and shipping AI systems against real production constraints, wherever the outcome requires. Entry level in the forward-deployed engineering track, reporting to a Squad Lead.

Your Mission : The Role

Most AI projects don't fail because the model stops working. They fail where deployment meets enterprise reality - real data, real systems, real processes. You work where that gap is, inside the customer's environment, until the outcome holds.

Roughly three-quarters of your time is hands-on technical work. The rest is walking the customer's team through what you built and why.

What you'll do

• Ship working fixes and improvements directly inside whatever system or process you're deployed to - same cadence, same real data.

• Debug against live production data. Documentation is always incomplete, and the root cause is usually somewhere it doesn't reach.

• Ask the process-first question on every fix: is this a one-off patch, or is the underlying workflow broken for everyone downstream?

• Turn what you build into a pattern the next engagement can reuse.

• Work day-to-day as part of the customer's process, and hand over what you built so it outlives your rotation.

What you bring

• 1–3 years in software engineering or data engineering, including hands-on work building with AI/ML systems.

• Code you've shipped that ran in a live production environment.

• Full-stack comfort across data pipelines, backend services, and the AI/agent layer.

• Hands-on experience with LLM and agent systems - RAG pipelines, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks like LangGraph or AutoGen.

• Working fluency across GCP, AWS and Databricks, plus frontier model APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini Enterprise).

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
