Senior Protection & Control Engineer – SIPROTEC / SEL / IEC 61850

Protection engineering, SIPROTEC 5, SEL, ETAP/PSCAD — hands-on role on a major mission-critical infrastructure programme.

If you’re a protection & control engineer who wants to stay technical rather than move into pure project management, this is the role.

The role

You’ll work client-side across protection studies, relay engineering, power-system modelling, substation automation and controls integration, supporting projects from design through commissioning and handover.

What you’ll work on

• Protection studies and power-system modelling using ETAP / PSCAD
• Siemens SIPROTEC 5 / DIGSI 5 relay configuration and testing
• SEL protection relays and RTAC automation
• Protection coordination, relay settings and controls integration
• IEC 61850 / SCD-file configuration
• CT/VT sizing, grounding and voltage-drop calculations
• Technical review of electrical designs and vendor submissions
• Switchgear, transformers, microgrids, energy storage and complex AC/DC systems

What we’re looking for

You’ll need strong hands-on experience in electrical protection and controls engineering, including protection studies, relay configuration and complex power systems.

You do not need experience with every platform listed, but strong experience with SIPROTEC, SEL, ETAP, PSCAD, IEC 61850 or substation automation will be highly relevant.

Relevant backgrounds

Utilities, substations, grid infrastructure, protection-relay OEMs, electrical consultancies, data centres, mission-critical facilities or specialist electrical contractors.

Singapore-based applicants with existing right to work in Singapore required.
