Role Description The MRO Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position located in Bintulu. The MRO Engineer will oversee maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities for mechanical rotating equipment and turbomachinery, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assets. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and coordinating maintenance work, developing job plans, reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, and preparing technical documentation and reports. The role involves diagnosing equipment issues, proposing corrective actions, supporting root cause analysis, and collaborating with technicians and other engineers to implement solutions. The MRO Engineer will engage with clients on technical matters, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and help optimize maintenance strategies and reliability programs in line with company standards and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mechanical rotating equipment, turbomachinery, and MRO processes, including inspection, troubleshooting, and repair practices.
• Experience in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and asset performance optimization within industrial or energy-related environments.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards, and prepare clear technical documentation and reports.
• Familiarity with safety regulations, quality management systems, and industry best practices for maintenance and engineering work.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and interact with clients professionally.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability and continuous improvement.
• Willingness to work on-site in Bintulu and to participate in field work, equipment inspections, and occasional off-hour or shutdown support as needed.
