We are looking for an experienced Legal Manager to oversee the Company’s legal affairs, provide practical legal advice to Management, and ensure the Company’s business activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to the Company on various legal and business matters to protect the Company’s interests and mitigate legal risks.
- Manage and oversee litigation and dispute matters, including liaising with external solicitors and representing the Company where required.
- Review, draft and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents to ensure legal validity and safeguard the Company’s interests.
- Advise Management and relevant departments on pre-contract and post-contract matters, including contractual obligations, risks, disputes and remedies.
- Review and advise on construction-related contracts, including PAM Contracts, subcontract agreements and other commercial agreements.
- Act as the key liaison between the Company and regulatory authorities, government agencies and external legal advisers.
- Review, develop and update Company policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee legal and regulatory compliance from regulatory, reputational, financial and operational risk perspectives.
- Conduct legal research and monitor changes in legislation, regulations and other relevant legal developments.
- Advise the Board of Directors and Management on changes in laws and regulations and their potential impact on business operations.
- Provide legal guidance to internal departments on contractual, compliance and other legal matters.
- Manage and maintain proper records of contracts, legal documents, litigation matters and regulatory correspondence.
- Undertake other legal, compliance and ad hoc assignments as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent legal qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with in-house legal and/or law firm experience.
- Experience in the construction, property, interior fit-out or related industry will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with PAM Contracts and construction-related agreements is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in contract drafting, review and negotiation, litigation, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
- Admitted to the Malaysian Bar and holding a valid practising certificate will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian laws, regulations and corporate/commercial legal requirements.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to provide practical and commercially sound legal advice to Management.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with Management, internal departments and external parties.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
