Responsibilities
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimise the company’s end-to-end supply chain operations, with primary responsibility for logistics, warehousing, inventory management and order fulfilment. The successful candidate will ensure that products are received, stored and delivered efficiently while maintaining optimal inventory levels, high inventory accuracy and excellent service levels to both retail and food-service customers. This is a hands-on management role suited to an individual who is commercially minded, data-driven and experienced in managing fast-moving F&B or FMCG distribution operations.
Key responsibilities
1. Supply Chain & Logistics Management
Manage the overall supply chain operations covering warehousing, transportation, inventory and distribution.
Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency, service levels and cost effectiveness.
Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely product availability and delivery.
Manage third-party logistics providers, transporters and other supply chain partners.
Monitor delivery performance, transportation costs and customer service levels.
Identify opportunities to optimise delivery routes, fleet utilisation and logistics costs.
2. Warehouse Management
Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and returns.
Ensure proper warehouse layout, product flow and space utilisation.
Establish and maintain efficient warehouse processes and operating procedures.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, quality and workplace safety requirements.
Monitor warehouse productivity and labour utilisation.
Lead initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy and turnaround time.
3. Inventory Management
Take overall responsibility for inventory accuracy and stock availability.
Establish appropriate inventory levels, reorder points and safety-stock requirements.
Monitor stock movements and identify slow-moving, excess, ageing and obsolete inventory.
Minimise stock losses, damages, expiry and wastage.
Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices, particularly for products with limited shelf life.
Conduct regular stock counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
Work closely with Sales and Purchasing to align inventory levels with customer demand and sales forecasts.
4. Demand & Supply Planning
Work closely with the Sales, Purchasing and Finance teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.
Translate sales forecasts into purchasing and inventory requirements.
Anticipate seasonal demand fluctuations, promotions and major customer orders.
Ensure sufficient stock availability while maintaining healthy working capital.
Identify potential supply constraints and develop contingency plans.
5. Order Fulfilment
Ensure customer orders are processed and fulfilled accurately and on time.
Monitor order-to-delivery performance and resolve operational issues affecting customer service.
Establish appropriate KPIs for order accuracy, fill rate, delivery performance and inventory availability.
Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve delivery and stock-related issues.
6. Team Management
Lead, manage and develop the warehouse, logistics and inventory teams.
Set clear performance objectives and KPIs for team members.
Optimise manpower planning and shift arrangements according to operational requirements.
Provide coaching and training to improve productivity, discipline and operational standards.
Build a strong culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
7. Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Utilise ERP/WMS and other supply chain systems to improve inventory visibility and operational control.
Develop regular reports covering inventory, logistics costs, warehouse performance and service levels.
Analyse supply chain data and recommend improvements to management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve efficiency and enhance customer service.
Establish and monitor key supply chain KPIs and provide regular performance updates to senior management.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations or a related discipline.
5–8 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or distribution management.
Experience in F&B, FMCG or food distribution will be strongly preferred.
Proven experience managing warehouse and logistics operations.
Strong knowledge of inventory management, stock control and distribution processes.
Experience managing third-party logistics providers and transport partners.
Good understanding of FIFO/FEFO, expiry management and food distribution requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with operational data and KPIs.
Experience with ERP, WMS or inventory management systems.
Good leadership and people-management capabilities.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Commercially aware with a strong focus on cost control and operational efficiency.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
