About the role
Join a Singapore public sector client as a Platform Engineer in a secure, mission-critical AWS-based cloud environment. You will onboard applications onto the platform, enable system integration through a common enterprise integration hub, run cloud monitoring and operations, and help software teams understand and remediate security findings from platform-provided controls. The CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps platform and security scanning toolchains are built and managed by a separate platform team. Your focus is using them well and helping development teams do the same. You will also pick up full stack web development for experimentation and proof-of-concept work.
What you will do
Cloud platform and application onboarding
- Work with software development teams to onboard applications onto the cloud platform.
- Configure and use the approved CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes provided by the platform team.
- Provision and deploy cloud infrastructure in line with approved solution architecture designs and implementation specifications.
- Configure and maintain application deployment artefacts, environment configurations and infrastructure definitions.
- Resolve deployment, security, compliance and operational issues with solution architects, platform teams, cybersecurity stakeholders and developers.
- Automate operational and deployment tasks through scripting and approved automation tools.
System integration and enablement
- Onboard and integrate applications and services from multiple development teams through a common enterprise integration hub.
- Configure and support connectivity between applications and the integration platform using approved services, configurations and patterns.
- Support API onboarding, configuration, testing, deployment and operationalisation.
- Troubleshoot integration issues across interconnected systems and services.
- Help software teams adopt integration standards, governance requirements and operational practices.
- Develop and maintain integration documentation, interface configurations and operational procedures.
- Support testing and validation of integrated application workflows across multiple systems.
Monitoring and cloud operations
- Configure, deploy and maintain cloud monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure, applications and workloads for availability, reliability and operational visibility.
- Investigate alerts, anomalies and operational issues, and coordinate troubleshooting and remediation.
- Build dashboards, metrics and reports on system health, performance, utilisation, capacity and operational status.
- Support incident detection, root cause analysis, service restoration and post-incident improvement.
Security and compliance
- Understand the platform's security controls: SAST, DAST, SCA, container vulnerability scanning, and infrastructure and configuration compliance checks.
- Review and interpret security findings generated by these controls.
- Work with development teams to investigate, prioritise, track and remediate vulnerabilities and compliance issues.
- Guide software teams on platform security requirements, secure coding practices and remediation approaches.
Experimentation and prototyping
- Explore, prototype and develop full stack web applications and platform capabilities for proof-of-concept and process improvement work.
- Learn and apply frontend, backend, API and database technologies as platform and user needs evolve.
- Run lightweight experiments to improve platform usability, reporting, automation and developer experience.
- Support security accreditation, compliance assessments, audits and technical reviews.
- Maintain deployment documentation, operational procedures, security-related artefacts and technical records.
What you bring
