Responsibilities

• You are expected to install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and maintain backup servers, appliances, agents, storage targets, and supporting infrastructure.
• You must monitor backup and recovery operations, investigate failures or performance degradation, and perform restoration activities across physical, virtual, database, application, cloud, and file-based environments.
• You must design and optimize backup solutions to improve recovery performance, storage utilization, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• You are expected to support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, technology refreshes, disaster recovery exercises, testing, cutover, and transition of new solutions into production.
• You must troubleshoot complex backup, restore, connectivity, storage, certificate, and performance issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions.
• You are expected to maintain backup standards, SOPs, runbooks, technical documentation, audit evidence, and compliance records in line with security and governance requirements.
• You must perform capacity and performance analysis, identify infrastructure growth requirements, and recommend optimization or technology refresh initiatives.
• You are expected to coordinate with infrastructure, application, database, network, security, storage teams, and technology vendors while providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing to engineering teams.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of experience across enterprise backup, recovery, data protection, storage, or infrastructure operations, including at least 3 years in a senior engineering, technical lead, or project delivery capacity.
• Strong hands-on experience administering enterprise backup platforms and resolving complex backup and recovery issues.
• Experience with enterprise backup technologies such as Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Cohesity, Commvault, Dell PowerProtect Data Domain, ExaGrid, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience integrating backup solutions with VMware, Nutanix AHV, Windows, Linux/Unix, Oracle RMAN, Microsoft SQL Server, and enterprise applications.
• Good understanding of replication, deduplication, immutable or retention-locked storage, air gapped protection, disaster recovery, and cyber recovery concepts.
• Experience supporting infrastructure migrations, upgrades, new solution implementations, DR exercises, and production transitions.
• Exposure to scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, shell scripting, Ansible, or APIs is advantageous.
• Experience operating within large enterprise or regulated environments, including governance, risk, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Relevant certifications such as Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Cohesity, Commvault, Dell Data Protection, ITIL, PMP or PRINCE2 are advantageous.

Pay: RM14,000.00 - RM14,500.00 per month
