We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at the UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

Project Title

Spatial Immune Profiling in Colorectal Cancer to Uncover Tumor Heterogeneity and Prognostic Signatures


This project will investigate the colorectal cancer immune microenvironment using spatial immune profiling and complementary molecular and cellular approaches. The successful candidate will gain experience in cancer immunology, spatial profiling, data analysis, scientific writing and research communication.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct laboratory-based research in cancer biology and tumour immunology
  • Perform molecular, cellular and immune profiling experiments
  • Analyse and interpret research data
  • Participate in research meetings, presentations and scientific discussions
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, publications and conference presentations
  • Complete a full-time PhD programme at UKM
Who We’re Looking For

Applicants should:

  • Be a Malaysian citizen
  • Hold a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences or another related field
  • Be eligible to register as a full-time PhD student at UKM
  • Be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken
  • Have a strong interest in cancer research, immunology and molecular medicine
  • Be motivated, diligent, responsible and willing to learn

Previous experience in cell biology, immunology, molecular biology or related laboratory techniques will be an advantage.
