Summary
The Senior Topside Rotating Engineer is responsible for the engineering design, specification, review, and technical assurance of rotating equipment for oil & gas and FPSO projects. The role ensures compliance with applicable international codes, project specifications, and client standards throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, gas turbines, steam turbines, blowers).
- Prepare datasheets, technical requisitions, and specifications.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
- Manage vendor selection, technical clarifications, and deviations.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces (process, piping, electrical, instrumentation).
- Provide technical solutions for design challenges.
- Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, and model reviews.
- Interface with vendors, procurement, and construction teams.
- Review and approve GA drawings, performance curves, and calculations.
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO, and client standards.
- Support project planning, cost estimation, and risk management.
- Participate in client meetings and technical presentations.
- Ensure adherence to HSE and quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience with proven experience leading rotating discipline in EPC/FPSO projects
- Strong expertise in: API Standards | Dynamic analysis, vibration, and reliability |Package integration on floating facilities
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience handling large compressors, turbo-machinery packages preferred
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Makes key technical decisions within assigned scope.
- Recognized as discipline specialist within project team.
