Your new role
The first Group-level HR Manager role overseeing 3 subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include:
Group HR Strategy & Organizational Development
- Establish and lead the Group HR function across the organization.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and management team on organizational effectiveness, talent management, workforce planning, and change management.
- Drive organizational transformation initiatives to strengthen workforce capability and business performance.
Talent Acquisition & Employee Retention
- Lead end-to-end recruitment strategies to attract high-calibre talent.
- Develop employer branding initiatives to strengthen talent attraction.
- Implement employee engagement and retention programmes to reduce turnover.
- Work closely with department heads to ensure timely and quality hiring.
Performance Management
- Design and manage performance appraisal systems and KPI frameworks.
- Coach managers on performance management, employee development and disciplinary matters.
- Monitor employee performance trends and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a high-performance and accountability-driven culture.
Leadership Development & Succession Planning
- Identify high-potential employees and establish talent development programmes.
- Coordinate leadership development, training and career progression initiatives.
- Develop succession plans for key management and business-critical positions.
- Partner with business leaders to strengthen organizational capabilities.
HR Policies, Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act and all relevant labour legislation.
- Review, develop and implement HR policies, SOPs and employee handbook.
- Manage employment contracts, disciplinary matters, employee relations and investigations.
- Ensure HR practices comply with statutory and corporate governance requirements.
HR Business Partnering
- Partner with senior management to align HR strategies with business goals.
- Provide practical HR advice on organizational development, workforce planning and change management.
- Drive HR initiatives that improve employee productivity, engagement and organizational effectiveness.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive Human Resource experience.
- At least 3 years in a managerial or assistant managerial capacity.
- Experience supporting multiple business units or companies will be an advantage.
- Experience in manufacturing, trading, logistics, retail or diversified business environments is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, Psychology or a related discipline.
- Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CIPD, PHR, SPHR, AHRI, MIHRM or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and HR best practices.
