Job Descriptions
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function for Legend.
As the principal finance partner to the Legend leadership team, you will provide financial stewardship, performance insight and commercial challenge to support sustainable growth, transformation and operational excellence. You will work closely with central finance teams—including Group Consolidation, Treasury, Credit Control, Global Shared Services and Internal Control—to ensure robust reporting, governance, liquidity management and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Legend’s financial planning, reporting, forecasting and performance-management agenda.
Ensure accurate, complete and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership, providing financial insight and challenge on strategic, commercial and operational decisions.
Lead the annual budget, rolling forecast and long-term planning processes.
Analyse financial and operational performance, including revenue, margin, utilisation, cost productivity, cash flow and profitability.
Prepare clear management reports, variance analysis, financial models and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Provide commercial evaluation of pricing, customer and trade-lane profitability, asset deployment, investments, contracts and other material commitments.
Oversee cash-flow forecasting, liquidity planning, working capital and funding requirements in partnership with central Treasury.
Work closely with Credit Control to manage credit risk, collections priorities and overdue exposures.
Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls, delegated authorities and compliance with Group policies.
Ensure audit findings, control gaps and reporting issues are addressed through sustainable corrective actions.
Lead the finance workstream for business integration, transformation, process standardisation and systems alignment.
Lead, coach and develop the Legend finance team, building a high-performing and controls-conscious finance culture.
Qualifications and Experience
Recognised professional accounting qualification, such as CA, CPA or ACCA, or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Minimum 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
Significant experience in senior finance leadership, financial control or finance business partnering within an international, multi-entity environment.
Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audit, governance, cash management and business-case evaluation.
Proven ability to influence senior operational and commercial stakeholders across functions and geographies.
Experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding or a related industry is preferred.
Experience supporting business transformation, integration, restructuring or turnaround initiatives is an advantage.
