Job Summary

PARKROYAL A'Famosa Melaka Resort is seeking a practical, detail-oriented Technician (Handyman) to join our Engineering team. You will be responsible for maintaining the general physical upkeep of the resort, including guestrooms, public spaces, facilities, and backend areas. The ideal candidate possesses strong general maintenance skills across basic plumbing, minor electrical work, painting, and carpentry to ensure high guest satisfaction and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Guestroom & Facility Repairs: Promptly respond to guest and department work orders to fix minor room defects, furniture damage, doors, locks, and fixtures.
• General Maintenance: Perform basic plumbing repairs (unclogging drains, replacing taps, fixing leaks) and minor electrical fixes (changing bulbs, replacing switches/outlets).
• Cosmetic Upkeep: Carry out touch-up painting, drywall patching, wood trim repairs, and basic tiling to keep resort spaces looking pristine.
• Preventative Maintenance: Assist with routine inspection schedules for tools, basic mechanical equipment, guestroom HVAC filters, and property facilities.
• Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean work environment, adhere to hotel safety guidelines (including Lockout/Tagout procedures), and properly store tools and materials.
• Escalation: Identify and report major mechanical, HVAC, or structural issues to senior technicians or supervisors.

Requirements

• SPM, Vocational Certificate (SKM), or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in hotel, resort, or property maintenance preferred (fresh vocational graduates are welcome to apply).
• Solid general handyman skills (painting, basic plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry).
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
