Job Description

Responsibilities

About Purest Co

At Purest Co, we are dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of our customers by offering high-quality natural health products. We are passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences, and our team is at the heart of what we do.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Junior Shopify Developer to build and maintain our seven Shopify storefronts across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, the US and Thailand.

This is an execution-focused role for someone comfortable working independently - building theme sections, shipping campaign and landing pages, configuring apps and fixing front-end issues on live stores. Our storefronts run on Liquid themes, so the day-to-day is theme and app development. Broader framework experience is welcome but not required.

You will work directly with the Growth Strategy Manager, who sets the priorities, and coordinate with external agencies where needed. We work with AI tools daily and expect you too as well.

Key Responsibilities

Theme Development

  • Build and maintain Shopify theme sections, snippets and templates using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Implement design briefs accurately across desktop and mobile.
  • Diagnose and fix front-end bugs, layout breaks and cross-browser issues.
  • Keep theme code organised and documented for the next person who touches it.

Campaign & Promotion Execution

  • Build campaign pages, landing pages and homepage banners from brief to live.
  • Work in-theme and in GemPages depending on the build.
  • Implement promotional mechanics, discounts and product bundles correctly.
  • Conduct pre- and post-campaign checks.

Multi-Store Management

  • Deploy changes across multiple storefronts, accounting for where each market differs.
  • Test and preview all changes on a staging or preview theme before publishing to live.
  • Maintain consistency across stores while respecting local content and pricing.
  • Create and update products, collections and metafields.
  • Monitor stores for broken pages, rendering issues and availability problems.

Apps & Integrations

  • Configure and troubleshoot our Shopify app stack - subscriptions, loyalty, reviews, email and SMS.
  • Support the technical setup of EDM, WhatsApp and CRM campaigns.
  • Implement front-end changes needed for cart recovery and retention flows.

Website Optimisation & Tracking

  • Improve page speed and Core Web Vitals on live templates.
  • Implement tracking through Google Tag Manager and Shopify's script infrastructure.
  • Review product pages, landing pages and mobile customer journeys.
  • Identify website issues that may affect conversion and customer experience.
  • Implement straightforward improvements based on agreed direction

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years' hands-on Shopify development experience, or a portfolio of work you built yourself.
  • Working knowledge of Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript - enough to build a theme section from scratch, not only to edit one
  • Familiar with the Shopify admin: themes, products, collections, metafields.
  • Basic Git (branching, commits, pull requests).
  • Able to use AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude effectively, while still understanding and testing the code you ship.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks across several stores.
  • Strong attention to detail and execution accuracy - in a seven-store setup, a small mistake repeats itself seven times.
  • Good research skills: able to find answers in documentation, forums and app support.
  • Good written and spoken English, and clear communication in a remote team.
  • Proactive in identifying issues and following up on tasks.
  • Genuine interest in e-commerce, digital marketing and how stores make money.

What Success Looks Like

  • Theme changes and campaign pages are built accurately and shipped on time.
  • Changes are properly tested and previewed before going live.
  • Live stores stay stable - deployments don't introduce regressions.
  • Front-end issues are found and fixed before they affect customers.
  • Product, pricing and promotional information is implemented correctly across all stores.
  • Page speed and Core Web Vitals improve over time.
  • You increasingly take briefs from start to finish with minimal review.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, based on experience.
  • Staff discount on all Purest products.
  • EPF, SOCSO and EIS contributions.

Professional Growth

  • Clear opportunities for career progression as you take on more scope and responsibility.
  • Direct mentorship from the person who built and runs our current stack.
  • Exposure beyond theme code - app architecture, analytics, CRO and multi-market e-commerce operations.
  • Real ownership early - your work reaches customers across six markets.
  • Performance and development reviews with honest feedback on what you need to reach the next level.

Benefits:

  • Work from home

Work Location: Remote
