Role Description

We are urgently hiring Two (2) Hostel Maintenance / Wardens to support our worker hostel operations. The Hostel Maintenance/Warden role is a full-time, on-site position based in Petaling Jaya. This role is responsible for overseeing daily hostel operations, including monitoring resident safety, enforcing house rules, and ensuring compliance with relevant accommodation standards and company policies. The Hostel Maintenance/Warden will coordinate cleaning and basic maintenance activities, inspect facilities regularly, and report or follow up on repair needs with service providers. The role also involves managing check-in and check-out processes, maintaining accurate records of residents, and responding to issues or emergencies in a calm and timely manner. The successful candidate will work closely with management and employers to support a clean, secure, and comfortable environment for all residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in hostel, dormitory, property, or facility management, including day-to-day operations and resident coordination.
• Basic maintenance skills (e.g., minor repairs, equipment checks, plumbing & electrical work) and ability to coordinate with contractors or technicians for larger works.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail in documentation and compliance with Akta 446 and related regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with residents, employers, and internal teams in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to handle conflicts, emergencies, and safety issues calmly and effectively, including problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional language skills are an advantage.
• Physically fit & willingness to work on-site in Petaling Jaya and be available for flexible hours or on-call duty when required.
• Previous experience in a similar hostel/warden or accommodation management role is preferred; basic knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards is beneficial.
