Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Assistant Manager, Product-Non-Motor (Marine Underwriting) to join our Marine team in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting and developing Marine Cargo and Hull business in line with the Company's strategic objectives, risk appetite, and profitability targets. The role will support the effective management of the Marine portfolio, strengthen relationships with producers and intermediaries, and collaborate with internal and regional stakeholders to deliver high-quality customer and business outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and develop Marine Cargo and Hull business to achieve targeted portfolio growth and profitability.
• Support the smooth and efficient workflow within the Marine team.
• Collaborate across lines of business, functions, and countries to proactively address customer needs.
• Work closely with the Accounts team on credit-control matters.
• Liaise with the Claims Department to remain updated on submitted claims and use claims insights to improve underwriting decisions.
• Ensure compliance with the Company's reinsurance treaty limits, terms, and conditions to manage and protect the Company's net exposure.
• Monitor and review annual policies, open covers, cover notes, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with the Process team on document processing and issuance.
• Provide support for enquiries relating to the web-based Marine Cargo portal.
• Provide training and guidance on Marine insurance technical knowledge to staff and intermediaries.
• Place and accept facultative reinsurance, where required.
• Support business development activities, producer engagement, and the development of new Marine Cargo opportunities.

Job Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in Marine underwriting.
• GCE 'A' Levels or a Polytechnic Diploma.
• Singapore College of Insurance qualifications, such as CGI.
• ANZIIF or ACII qualification would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of the Singapore Marine insurance market.
• Strong underwriting, analytical, communication, and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams and countries.
