Role Overview:

As a Backend Engineer at Arki, you'll help build robust, scalable, and secure backend systems that power our digital wealth advisory platform. This role is perfect for someone who's passionate about creating impactful solutions, thrives on tackling technical challenges, and enjoys collaborating with a team to deliver world-class fintech experiences.

What will you do?

• Design and implement scalable backend systems, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
• Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless communication between systems and users.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) to manage, store, and optimise financial data.
• Partner with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end solutions that delight users.
• Implement best practices in data security and support compliance with financial regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Continuously monitor, optimise, and refactor backend code to improve system performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with and learn from senior engineers, while contributing your own ideas and technical perspective to the team.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to drive our technical capabilities forward.

What make you a good fit?

• 5 years of experience in backend development, with a track record of building and deploying scalable systems.
• Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java. Exposure to microservices architecture is a plus.
• Skilled in designing and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Proficient with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to pivot and deliver under tight timelines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on building strong relationships across teams.
• Interest in financial technology and a desire to build solutions that empower users to take control of their financial futures.
