Job Description

Responsibilities

Our client is an established international organisation within the maritime and commodities sector, with a broad regional and global presence.


They are looking for a Broker Analyst to join their Singapore team. This role combines market research, data analysis and commercial support, working closely with internal stakeholders to provide timely insights that support business and client decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse shipping and market developments to provide relevant commercial insights
  • Maintain and manage market data, ensuring information is accurate, timely and reliable
  • Conduct research on market trends, movements and developments
  • Develop and maintain analytical models, reports and dashboards
  • Prepare and validate regular reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
  • Support data extraction and analysis using SQL and other analytical tools
  • Work with internal teams to improve data processes, reporting and analytical capabilities
  • Support ad hoc commercial requests, presentations and market briefings
  • Gather market intelligence from industry news, events and professional networks
  • Provide analytical and commercial support for day-to-day business activities
  • Take on additional projects and analysis as required


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in shipping, maritime, commodities or a related commercial environment
  • Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Economics, Data Analytics or a related discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SQL
  • Basic knowledge of Python or another programming language will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with good attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commercially minded with an interest in the shipping and commodities markets
  • Able to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
