Join us in shaping the future of impact investing in leading the Group Risk Strategic & Analytic function as Head, Equity Investment Risk Management and play a key role in safeguarding the Bank's capital while enabling impactful investments that contribute to Malaysia's economic development.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead BPMB's Equity Investment Risk Management function, including strategy, governance, risk appetite, and portfolio oversight.
• Provides independent risk assessment and challenge on investment proposals prior to consideration by the Investment Committee and Board.
• Develops and maintains investment risk policies, limits, concentration thresholds, and escalation frameworks.
• Reviews investment structures, valuation methodologies, portfolio performance, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitors investment portfolios and establish early warning indicators, watchlist criteria, stress testing scenarios, and portfolio risk analytics.
• Presents investment risk assessments, portfolio risk reports, and risk dashboards to senior management, Investment Committees, and Board-level committees.
• Leads regulatory, audit, and governance engagements relating to investment risk matters.
• Collaborates closely with Investment, Legal, Finance, ESG, Monitoring & Evaluation, Market Risk, Credit Risk, and other stakeholders to strengthen risk governance across the investment lifecycle.
• Develops and mentor a high-performing investment risk team while fostering a strong risk culture across the organisation.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Development Studies
• A Master's degree and/or certifications such as CFA, FRM, or ESG-related credentials are highly desirable
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in the financial services or development finance sector, with a minimum of 5 years in Private Equity or Investment Risk, ideally with exposure to SME investments
• Strong understanding of private equity investments, investment risk assessment, valuation methodologies, portfolio monitoring, and risk governance.
• Knowledge of ESG principles, impact investing, development finance, and blended finance structures.
• Familiarity with investment committee processes, board-level governance, and risk management frameworks within financial institutions or development finance organisations.
• Proven ability to provide independent investment risk assessments and present risk opinions to senior management, investment committees, and board-level stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across investment, legal, finance, ESG, and risk functions.
• Excellent analytical, report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, sound judgement, and high professional integrity in balancing risk, return, and development impact objectives.
