Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all machinery, equipment, electrical systems and electronic items across the Company and outlets are maintained in good, safe and operational condition.
The role is responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, attending to equipment breakdowns, carrying out minor repairs and coordinating with external vendors or contractors for major repairs and specialised technical works.
The position plays an important role in minimising equipment downtime and ensuring smooth daily outlet operations.
Key Responsibilities :
A. Outlet Equipment & Machinery Maintenance
- Perform routine inspection, servicing and maintenance of machinery and equipment at outlets.
- Ensure all outlet equipment is functioning properly, safely and efficiently.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to the approved maintenance schedule.
- Identify equipment deterioration, abnormal operation or potential breakdown risks.
- Carry out minor repairs, adjustments, replacement of components and basic technical works where applicable.
- Ensure repaired equipment is tested and safe before being returned to operation.
B. Kitchen & F&B Equipment
Maintain and troubleshoot outlet operational equipment, including but not limited to:
- Fryers and cooking equipment
- Food warmers and heating equipment
- Freezers and chillers
- Refrigerators
- Exhaust and ventilation-related equipment
- Food preparation equipment
- Water pumps and related equipment
- Motors, switches, sensors and other machine components
- Other machinery used for daily outlet operations
C. Electrical & Electronic Equipment
- Troubleshoot basic electrical and electronic issues affecting outlet operations.
- Inspect power supply, switches, sockets, wiring, plugs and other related components.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electronic equipment such as:
- POS-related equipment
- Printers
- Weighing scales
- TVs and display screens
- Digital signage
- CCTV-related equipment
- Network/communication-related equipment at outlet level
- Other electronic devices and equipment used by outlets.
- Escalate major electrical or electronic issues to qualified contractors or specialists when required.
D. Breakdown & Emergency Support
- Respond promptly to technical breakdowns reported by outlets.
- Diagnose the root cause of equipment failure and determine the appropriate corrective action.
- Attend to urgent breakdowns that may affect outlet operations.
- Minimise equipment downtime and operational disruption.
- Monitor outstanding breakdowns until the issue is fully resolved.
E. Preventive Maintenance
- Maintain and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all outlet equipment.
- Conduct scheduled technical inspections across outlets.
- Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend preventive solutions.
- Recommend replacement of equipment or parts when repair is no longer economical or practical.
F. New Outlet & Renovation Support
- Support the technical setup of new outlets, relocation and renovation projects.
- Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of machinery and equipment.
- Conduct technical inspection before the outlet commences operation.
- Ensure equipment is properly positioned, connected and ready for operational use.
G. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors and service providers for specialised repairs and maintenance, if require.
- Arrange service appointments and follow up on outstanding technical issues.
- Monitor vendor/contractor work and ensure repairs are completed according to the required standards.
- Assist Management in reviewing quotations and recommending appropriate repair or replacement options.
H. Spare Parts, Tools & Maintenance Materials
- Monitor the availability of commonly used spare parts and maintenance materials.
- Maintain proper records of spare parts used and equipment repaired.
- Ensure company tools and equipment are properly maintained and securely stored.
- Recommend required spare parts and maintenance materials based on equipment requirements.
I. Maintenance Records & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Equipment breakdowns
- Preventive maintenance
- Repairs carried out
- Spare parts replaced
- Vendor/contractor visits
- Equipment condition
- Outstanding technical issues
- Prepare periodic maintenance reports for Management.
- Track recurring breakdowns and provide recommendations for improvement.
J. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with Company policies and applicable safety requirements.
- Immediately report any electrical, mechanical or equipment condition that may pose a safety risk.
- Ensure equipment is safe before handing it back to outlet operations.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures when handling electrical, mechanical and technical equipment.
K. Other Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice to outlet management and operations teams on proper equipment usage and basic preventive care.
- Educate outlet staff on proper handling and operation of equipment where necessary.
- Perform other technical, maintenance and operational and any adhoc duties assigned by Management from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Engineering, Maintenance or related technical fields.
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in maintenance, equipment servicing, electrical, mechanical or technical support.
- Experience in F&B, restaurant, retail, hospitality, commercial kitchen or multi-outlet environment will be an added advantage.
- Practical experience in troubleshooting machinery, electrical systems and electronic equipment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, motors, switches, sensors, control systems and mechanical components.
- Able to perform hands-on maintenance and minor repair works.
- Willing to travel between outlets as required.
- Possess a valid driving licence.
- Own transportation is an added advantage.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
