Everyone loves lunch break unless your boss starts to push you to work and never had a chance to leave your table. You start skipping your lunch break in order to get your task done and trying to squeeze a little time to take a bit or two the cold sandwich. Guess what, you're not alone! According to reports, only one in five office workers taking a lunch break as in really going out and having lunch. While the rest prefer to attach to their table and just eat something light.

Stop this habit immediately! It's hugely important to take a step away from your desk and go eat and recharge your body to maintain productivity throughout the day. This is something that doesn't need to be reminded again. You can even see the differences between who take lunch break and who doesn't take a break at all and continue working. Employees who take a break during the workday are believed to have more energy, more motivation, and are able to concentrate better.

Fun fact for you- according to psychologists, people actually work best in 90 minute spurt with a break in between. So it's essentially important to take a substantial break halfway through the day. This is proven can help you in mind, and body as in avoiding common workplace symptoms such as headaches, eyestrain, lower back pain and many more.

Let's reorganise your schedule and allocate time to enjoy your lunch break without having to think about your work! Follow these few tips on how to use  your lunch brak to the fullest:

1. Do some small stretch

Lunch hour doesn't mean that you have to fully spend on eating. The idea of spending a whole hour eating is like a waste of time, so eat quickly then get moving! Move your body, and do some simple stretch to improve concentration, sharpen memory, quicken learning, enhance creativity and also the most important thing, reduce stress! You don't have to hit the gym. Skip it and do some minor stretch or have a brief walk around the building.

2. Shut away from the screen

You may be tempted to scroll through social media on your phone, try to break away from this habit during lunch. You have spent too much time staring at a screen and your eyes start feeling dry, irritated, tired and out of focus. Check your neck, do you suffer from pain, and also your back? All these hints should probably tell you to stop scrolling your phone with that tiny little finger.

Replace this habit by reading any book. Flip through your favourite magazine or newspaper. Try reading something printed not digital, back to basic! You can try to leave your handphone at your desk.

3. Take a chance to call anyone

You have spent almost half of your day at work with the same persons. Sometimes you need a little break from them and on particular day, you just want to stick with them all day long. Try to do something different occasionally like going out for lunch with your friends or even your love one. Go dine at your favourite restaurant near your office and spend time talking with them.

If your friends quite far from your place, you can try to call them just to have a mini catch up. With everyone's busy schedules, you can try to call your family to lighten up your mood.

4. Put aside your worry about work

All stuff related to work should be keep in the office. Once you exit from the door, no more talking about work. Don't talking or gossiping about work during lunch break. This won't help to soothe your stress so stop talking about work. Pop up new topic like personal, life, trends or something.

5. Do something fun!

Use that 1 hour to do something different. Allocate time for you to eat, to refresh yourself, and perhaps run some errands. Perhaps you can drop your clothes for dry cleaning during lunch break or do some grocery shopping. Believe me, you will feel much relax and energetic. You will be ready to go back to work and tackle with all tasks.
