You're all gear up to face the interviewer. You have your resume and cover letter with you. But the moment when you arrive at the office door, you feel nervous out of sudden. Yes, everyone will agree that interview is a nerve-wracking process. Don't let this feeling ruin your interview. If you want to get the job, look for this 10 mistakes. Change your attitude before it's too late.

1. Late for the interview

It's stated in the email that your interview is at 5 PM, and you know how bad the traffic is in KL city during this peak hour. But still, you start your journey late and make several stops to fill in the gas, grab some food, reload your Touch&Go card. The interviewer is expecting you to be there at least 10 minutes earlier okay. What would they think if you show up 30 minutes late from the schedule? Still hiring you? Probably not.

2. Avoiding eye contact

Are you hiding a secret from the interviewer? Are you afraid to look at the eyes when you're talking? Just simply make eye contact to give them a signal that you're presence in the conversation. Even if the action figures on the interviewer's table attracts you, stop looking at it.

3. Unexplained gap on your resume?

You're unemployed for 2 years and more perhaps to travel the world or due to some personal reasons. If the interview asks you the reason behind it, you have to explain it and make it clear so that the interviewer doesn't think that you're lazy or so.

4. Job hopping

It's so common for younger workers to hop from one job to another within a year. Well, it may be good or bad for the individual as the employer must want to hire someone who has a track record of staying at a particular company for a long term. Who want to hire candidates who works for 3 months only?

5. Give bad remarks about your previous employer

Okay your previous employer treated you badly like you're a slave and not as an employee. But if you trash your previous employer, it gives a sign that you will do the same to the current employer. Keep it low guys.

6. Demanding even before you get the job

Hold down, this is only a process of interviewing a potential candidate. If you being a dictator right during the interview, asking for a lot of perks it's really not a good move. Best advice would be, relax and the time will come.

7. Not asking question

"So do you have nay questions?" Never keep silent, you have to ask questions and it can be about the work culture, the employees, the job positions or anything about job. The interviewer is looking for a candidate who is curious about the job. They want to learn new things about you, so keep asking.

8. Typos, typos everywhere

You may not be a good writer with flair in grammar but your resume has to be 100% without any grammar errors. You can always ask your friends to double-check it for you. Typos in resume, its just a bad first impression.

9. Mumbling and give incorrect answer

Stop mumbling, and talk like a normal person. If the interviewer gives you questions, answer it correctly. If you don't know the answer, then stop pretending that you know. Organize the sentence in your head before you utter it.

10. Dress casually

You don't have to wear according to the black-tie event. Different companies apply different dress codes. Never underdressed for an interview. You have to respect the position you're applying for and take it professionally.
