The Company 

Chiong & Partners was conceived in early 2009. Just as businesses and enterprises decided to hold and consolidate their resources for the worsening global financial crisis, Dato’ Lawrence Chiong, the founder of Chiong & Partners, chose the narrow path and formed his partnership with full stride and confidence. True to such spirit, further with the conveyancing know-how, and advanced experience in civil and banking litigation over the years, Chiong & Partners together with its fully committed team of lawyers and staffs rose to become one of the only few law firms in town to be the panel solicitors for Messrs Public Bank Bhd., Messrs CIMB Bank Bhd., Messrs RHB Bank Bhd., Messrs EON Bank Bhd. (now merged and known as “Hong Leong Bank Bhd.”) and Messrs Hong Leong Bank Bhd. within the first two months from its inception. 

As of current, Chiong & Partners is attending loan documentation of other banks, such as Messrs Malayan Banking Bhd., Messrs HSBC Malaysia Bank Bhd., Messrs Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd., Messrs United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd. and Messrs Bank of China (Malaysia) Bhd. Chiong & Partners also managed to get into two reputable developers, namely Messrs KCC Development Sdn. Bhd. (KCC Group) and Messrs Malpakat Construction Sdn. Bhd. (Malpakat Group) within the first year of its inception, and subsequently been appointed as the panel of Messrs Tang Ren Development Sdn. Bhd. in its second year of inception. All these prove that skills, prudence and attention to details are the only ingredients that help to stand the test of time. 

In short, despite its early stage in the industry, Chiong & Partners has already had banking and developers panelship under its belt, an achievement seldom achieved by law firms of its kind. Moreover, Chiong & Partners has been appointed to provide Corporate Advisory for SME’s client in different industries all over Malaysia including but not limited to Interior Designers, Constructions, Contractors, Manufacturing, Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical, Logistics, and etc.

To further cater for its growing clientele, Chiong & Partners has decided to make its presence known not only in Johor Bahru, but also in Damansara of Selangor (now shifted to Klang) and within the region of Kuala Lumpur, making it one of the few law firms in Malaysia that sets up two offices within a month, and fully endorsed by the Bar Council of Malaysia. In 2022, Chiong & Partners decided to set up its Legal Representative Office in Sanya, Hainan Island, China, enabling the firm to further advance towards internationalization.

To date, Chiong & Partners has already commanded the confidence of its clients from all over Asia, mostly from Singapore, China (including Taiwan and Hong Kong), Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia, sitting on board as legal advisers to many clients nationwide and worldwide.
