About Oolam

Oolam is an ode to the rich and diverse culinary tapestry of Southeast Asia, nestled in the vibrant hub of The Five, Damansara Heights. Our name is inspired by 'ulam,' the local term for the fresh, aromatic herbs and foraged ingredients that are the soul of the region's cooking.

Under the direction of Chef Rakesh Varma, our menu artfully blends centuries-old techniques with a thoughtful, modern approach. We take cues from the bold, dynamic cuisines of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the wider Nusantara region, delivering dishes that are at once deeply traditional and delightfully surprising.

From our signature Crab Curry to the refreshing Urap Pucuk Paku, every plate is an invitation to experience the spirit of communal Asian dining—full of wok hei, punchy sauces, and the perfect balance of sweet, sour, spicy, and umami.
