Full Time Junior R-D Executive Jobs, Salary up to MYR 3,000 in SHVETA LABS (M) SDN BHD Selangor - Maukerja

1. Job Summary

The Junior R&D Executive will support the Product Innovation Specialist in the research, development, formulation, testing, and documentation of skin care and hair care products at Shveta Labs.

The Junior R&D Executive will gain hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation, plant and herbal extraction, extract characterization, product stability testing, and R&D documentation, including the preparation and maintenance of Product Information Files (PIFs).

The role involves working closely with the Product Innovation Specialist to support new product development, product improvement, laboratory operations, and research activities while ensuring compliance with internal quality standards, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and applicable cosmetic regulatory requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Product Formulation & Product Development

• Assist the Product Innovation Specialist in preparing laboratory-scale skin care and hair care formulations, including creams, lotions, serums, cleansers, shampoos, conditioners, and other personal care products.
• Prepare and accurately weigh raw materials according to approved formulations and laboratory procedures.
• Assist in conducting formulation trials, including ingredient incorporation, mixing, homogenization, pH adjustment, and viscosity evaluation.
• Record formulation procedures, observations, trial results, and any adjustments made during product development.

B. Plant & Herbal Extraction and Extract Analysis

• Support laboratory-scale extraction of plant-derived ingredients with extraction techniques, such as aqueous extraction, maceration, and other methods as required.
• Record extraction parameters, including raw material weight, extraction solvent, extraction temperature, extraction duration, and extraction yield.
• Assist in conducting physicochemical and analytical evaluations of extracts, such as pH, appearance, colour, odour, total solids, and other relevant parameters.
• Coordinate third-party laboratory testing of plant extracts, including antioxidant activity, total phenolic content, and other relevant assays as required.

C. Product Stability Testing & Evaluation

• Assist in preparing and monitoring stability studies for newly developed and existing cosmetic products.
• Prepare, label, and store stability samples under specified testing conditions.
• Conduct routine stability evaluations, including appearance, colour, odour, pH, viscosity, phase separation, and other applicable physical parameters.
• Record and update stability test results according to established testing schedules and internal procedures.
• Identify and report any changes, abnormalities, or potential product instability to the Product Innovation Specialist.

D. R&D Documentation & Product Information Files (PIF)

• Assist in preparing, compiling, organizing, and maintaining Product Information Files (PIFs) for cosmetic products in accordance with applicable Malaysian cosmetic regulatory requirements.
• Collect and maintain relevant raw material documentation, including Technical Data Sheets (TDS), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificates of Analysis (COA), ingredient specifications, and other supporting documents.
• Organize and maintain electronic and physical R&D records to ensure information is complete, accurate, and readily accessible.

E. Product Evaluation & Panel Testing

• Assist the Product Innovation Specialist in organizing and conducting internal product evaluation and panel testing activities for skin care and hair care products.
• Prepare, label, and distribute product samples to panel participants according to established testing protocols.
• Assist in developing and preparing product evaluation forms, questionnaires, and feedback templates.

F. Laboratory Operations & General R&D Support

• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and good housekeeping practices.
• Assist in the preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, glassware, and other laboratory apparatus.
• Monitor raw material inventory, laboratory consumables, and sample storage conditions.
• Ensure proper labelling, storage, and handling of raw materials, extracts, finished products, and laboratory samples.
• Follow established laboratory safety procedures, Good Laboratory Practices, and applicable company quality requirements.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties, research assignments, and laboratory tasks as assigned by the Product Innovation Specialist or other authorized superiors.

3. Qualifications

· Candidates should possess a relevant academic background such as Diploma / Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, or a related field.

· Candidates should be responsible, able to accurately record data & maintain organized documentation.

· Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, basic laboratory analytical skills (e.g., pH meter, viscometer, etc.), and willingness to learn and work in a laboratory environment.

· Familiarity with safety and hygiene practices in lab or food/cosmetic manufacturing settings is an advantage.

· Familiarity with skincare ingredients, testing procedures & GMP quality systems is an advantage.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
