Job title:
OEM Buyer
Company: MNC | Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing
Location: Changi (East Region)
Role Overview: Manage outside service processes (subcontracting/outsourcing), driving procurement strategies and operational flow for complex aerospace machining and secondary operations.
Responsibilities:
Sub-contractor & Vendor Management:
Oversee and coordinate 7+ outside service vendors (OVs) for secondary processes (e.g., coating, heat treatment, welding); monitor vendor OTIF performance and compliance.
PO & Project Execution:
Generate and manage POs for projects and subcontracting workflows; bridge gaps between WOs and POs in close liaison with Planning, Production, Quality, and Finance.
Strategic Sourcing & Cost Control:
Execute sourcing strategies, negotiate commercial terms, and mitigate inflation risks while expanding preferred supplier frameworks.
Data Analytics & System Optimization:
Automate purchasing reporting and metrics using modern data tools to optimize inventory, lead times, and continuous improvement KPIs.
Requirements:
Experience:
5+ years
in strategic sourcing, project procurement, and vendor management within a fast-paced
manufacturing
setup (aerospace or precision machining preferred).
Outsourcing Exposure: Hands-on experience managing
sub-contractors or outsourced special processes
(e.g., coating, machining, heat treatment).
Technical & System Skills: At least 5 years of
ERP experience
(SAP, Oracle, or equivalent); minimum 3 years using
Microsoft Power Platform
(Power BI, Power Automate, Excel).
Commercial Acumen: Strong background in supply/demand planning, inventory costs, and general awareness of metal commodity pricing.
