1–3 years of document control experience, preferably in the construction, M&E, or fire protection industry.
Familiarity with construction drawings, technical submissions, and project documentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Good organisational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.
Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Document Controller to support their construction and fire protection projects. The successful candidate will manage project documentation, drawings, submissions, transmittals, and records to ensure information is accurately controlled, updated, and readily available to the project team.
Job Description
The Document Controller will oversee the receipt, registration, submission, distribution, and archiving of project documents throughout the project lifecycle. This includes maintaining document registers, tracking revisions and approvals, and ensuring the latest approved documents are issued to the relevant parties.
The role involves close coordination with project teams, clients, consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors to meet documentation requirements and submission deadlines. The candidate will also support audits, inspections, and project handover by maintaining complete and accessible records.
Job Responsibilities
Document Control and Distribution
Manage project documents, including drawings, specifications, correspondence, and technical records.
Register incoming and outgoing documents and control their issuance, revision, and distribution.
Maintain accurate document registers, revision logs, and transmittal records.
Ensure the latest approved drawings and documents are circulated to the relevant project teams.
Identify and archive superseded documents to prevent unintended use.
Submissions and Approval Tracking
Coordinate document submissions and approvals with clients, consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors.
Track submission status, review comments, approvals, revisions, and resubmissions.
Follow up with project team members on outstanding documents and approvals.
Assist in compiling, formatting, and submitting shop drawings, as-built drawings, material submissions, method statements, and other technical documents.
Check submissions for completeness, correct document references, and revision details.
Filing and Record Management
Maintain organised electronic and physical filing systems in accordance with company and project requirements.
Ensure documents are correctly named, indexed, and stored for easy retrieval.
Maintain complete records of document exchanges, approvals, and revisions.
Archive project documentation at the required stages of the project.
Project Support and Handover
Provide required documentation for audits, inspections, and project reviews.
Coordinate with project teams to compile final approved documents and handover records.
Support the preparation of complete project documentation packages for close-out.
Perform other administrative and document control duties as assigned.
